In 2005, he began his career in theatre, working with shah sharahbeel, Tulin Khalid Azam, Ghazala Siddiqui and Junaid Malik amongst others. He formed his own production company, The Living Picture Productions, under the banner of which he has directed four plays. . In 2011, he also gained popularity by producing video blogs on YouTube under the channel name The Living Picture. Osman was born into a Muslim family in Islamabad, Pakistan on 9 February 1986. He is the youngest son of eminent television actor, director and screenwriter Dr. Khalid Said Butt. He has one brother and one sister. Butt's father is Kashmiri and his mother is French of Polish descent. He is dubbed the Pakistani Orlando Bloom by his increasing number of fans and has played supporting roles in two films, Zibakhana and Slackistan. Slackistan is an independent movie directed by London-based filmmaker, Hammad Khan, in which he played the role of Saad. Slackistan has not been released in Pakistandue to objections raised by Central Board of Film Censors.
